Hammock camping can be made even more comfortable with just a few minor tweaks. Here I share with you 6 small tips for getting a better night sleep in your hammock. If you have other tips, please share them below in the comment section :-) The hammock used in this video is a Hennessy Safari Asym Zip. For a complete review of it you can watch one of my other videos. Go camping!!
Ticket To Moon. The daytrip hammock

A quick review of the Ticket To Moon hammock. This hammock is great for day trips, but for overnighting other hammocks will be better.
Hennessy Safari. The large hammock

This is the third hammock review video in a series of 4. Previously I've looked at the Hennessy Explorer and Hennessy Expedition. In this video I'm reviewing the Hennessy Safari Asym Zip, an awesome hammock that can be highly recommended.
Hennessy Explorer. The mid-sized hammock

This is the second out of 4 hammock review videos. Reviewing the Hennessy Explorer this time. It's really a great allrounder. Fairly compact and lightweight, yet spacious and comfortable enough for most of us.
Hennessy Expedition. The small hammock

This video is a quick review of the small giant, the Hennessy Expedition Asym Zip. It's a great compact lightweight hammock. But it is not for everyone as it has some limitations.
Kayaker gets a lesson from the ocean

This is my first time kayaking the open ocean, the western coast of Norway. Feeling the energy of the water and hearing the deep rumble instilled a new respect for the ocean. We had a lot of fun this day, but looking back we should have prepared a bit better, just small adjustments. In this video I share my reflections after this first open ocean experience. The paddling is done in Øygarden (Al...

Solo kayak camping with a hennessy hammock on the western norwegian coast. Amazing nature and fantastic scenery! Nothing beats making your morning coffee on the oceanfront. ☕️🔥🍺🏊☀️ The kayak is a boreal baffin P2, and the hammock is a Hennessy Safari Asym Zip. The spot in the video is just south of Bergen, in Bjørnafjorden. Very close to the island Lepsøy.
Hennessy hammock comparison: Expedition vs Explorer vs Safari | Which one is right for you?
Просмотров 38 тыс.4 года назад
Doing a side by side comparison of the Hennessy hammock lineup. Comparing the smallest Expedition, the middle sized Explorer and the largest Safari. All 3 hammocks are asym zip versions. The review was done on the western coast of Norway, and I own and have purchased all the hammocks, so I'm completely objective and unbiased. I've added snakeskins to all the hammocks, as well as a miniature car...

Testing out new territory: Taking the fishing kayak for some lake fishing to catch wild trout. It turned out to be a great Catch n' Cook day on the lake. Check out the nice trout I landed. It was real delicious dinner. I'm normally a saltwater fisherman, but this was an absolute blast. Come along and watch the beautiful Norwegian nature in this video.

The fishing trip where we do a bit of everything! Fishing nets, fishing line, deep sea fishing with bait, hammock camping and cold beer around the fire at nighttime. We're out in Western Norway, just south of Bergen at an area called Strøno. The trip started with getting the fishing nets and the line in the water overnight, then we found a great bay to set up camp in for the night. A couple of ...
Buying a boat vs investing the money, the real financial impact. Boats keep you broke !!
Просмотров 3 тыс.5 лет назад
Running the numbers between buying and owning a boat and investing in global index funds. This comparison assumes you're financing a $200.000 boat over 15 years, at 6% interest. It also assumes the option would be to spend whatever you're using at the boat for investing each month in a global index fund instead. The difference to your finances in this example is shocking. After 15 years the boa...
Solo Kayak overnight adventure - Yak and Hammock Expedition
Просмотров 30 тыс.5 лет назад
Did my first ever solo expedition. Packed up the yak and brought along my new Hennessy Explorer hammock. I got to say that kayak camping was a pleasant experience. The trip was a quick one-night expedition in Bjørnefjorden, Western Norway. The kayak is a Boreal Baffin P2, and the hammock is a Hennessy Explorer Asym Zip.
Kayak fishing and exploring the coast of Western Norway with the FeelFree Moken yak

Join me as I head out kayak fishing just south of Bergen (Bjørnefjorden). Didn't land any sea monsters today, but holy crap how nice it is to be out there. I forgot the bait at home, but luckily managed to catch fresh bait in a few minutes. Unfortunately that didn't help the fishing luck. Having this FeelFree Moken 14 fishing kayak as a supplement to our Boreal Baffin kayaks is really great. It...

Great video! Thank you. I have ordered one of these. The Hennessey website says two sets of snake skins are required, one for the hex tarp and another for the hammock. I noticed you have everything in one set of snake skins. Does it fit okay? Any idea why Hennessey would say two sets are required?
I about to buy a very clean and well maintained 2004 Sea Ray 200 Select for $15000. +- 500 hours on the 350 Mag fuel injected engine. Doing it for myself, my wife and my family. We are surrounded by 3 large lakes in Raleigh, North Carolina. I refuse to install and maintain a swimming pool (been there done that) but I do like the idea of having my own boat! Is this a good deal?
How tall are you
Zshould start with that
He said in the vdo 174cm weight 80kgs😊
Lol wish he would mention how tall he is.reviewers never mention their height
Men hvis kronene bare ligger på havbunnen, blir dem ikke sittende fast? Er som å fiske med stang nærme bunn, plutselig sitter kroken helst fast? Og du har 50stk? Eller flyter de over bunn?
I am surprised, as part of your hammock review, that you didn’t get into the hammock
Best review on the internet comparing these hammocks in a practical way!
Very nice set of videos. They are a pleasure to watch and informative.
I just bought this. Years ago I bought the Safari Zip, largely based on your recommendation. I love it. Hennesy just came out with a camouflage version of their most popular hammocks so i got the explorer with hex fly in woodland camo. Has not arrived yet
I set it up today and I am very impressed. For my height (172cm, 5’8”) it is perfect. I have the jungle version and it still packs smaller and lighter than my Safari. Has all the space I need. Will also make the hex fly feel even bigger and it works with the supershelter (the Safari does not). If you are average but under 6’ tall, get an Explorer. If you are above 6’ tall, go with the Safari.
Tx for the review glad I came😮 across your review as I'm buying on line as there aren't any stores that stock them in my city cheers
It seems that over the years Hennessy hammock did a few changes here and there, and looking at the specs for both the expedition, explorer xl and safari xl they should all have the same size tarp, 143''x120''/ 363x305cm, at least as of recent years. Just gotten my explorer xl in the mail, and will be using it next month. I have used a highlander crusader for the last 5 years, and having hung the explorer in my living room, its quite a bit bigger, both the hammock and tarp.
I love Hennessy but their website sucks when sorting through the different models.
Get a hovercraft it's more fun
How big are you?
38’ or 40’ boat?! Woah! I’m considering an 18’ runabout for lake use with an outboard motor. I can park it in my driveway. 😊
Sorry, the video is good but the music totaly destroy it for me.
true, Bekkjarvik has a museum that explains exactly what you told
Question: How tall are you? Thinking it will make a big difference on how the hammock fits.
5’ 8 😀
Thanks! I'm 5'9", so I think I'll go for the Explorer rather than the Expedition. @@Ocean4Life
How tall are you? I'm 6 foot and wondering if I should get the expedition. I don't want to pay extra in weight and money for the bigger ones
I’m 5’ 8. You will fit fine in the expedition. I just find the safari more comfortable, and it also has a way better tarp
A ridge line organizer will solve the problem of storing gear and it will also hold a water bottle. A peak storage bag from Onewind will hold extra clothes and other miscellaneous items. As for using a pad. They tend to move around. I prefer a under quilt. Hanging the hammock to tight puts a lot of stress on the ends. If you hang your head end lower than your foot end you won’t slide down. Also if you lay on a diagonal you will lay flat.
Worrying aboot the bout. Something you think aboot.
Synes det er unødvendig å la alt det papiret åg i sjøen men hjelpsom video uansett.
Super helpful to see comparisons between different models like this! I think I've found my hammock: I think the Expedition will be perfect for me :D
What diving suit did you use if i may ask and how cold was the water ? Best regards
There is a lot to think... aboat.
Here in Idaho owning a boat is pretty easy that goes for the northwest in general.
live bait? :O
No it goes into the freezer and then used whenever needed 😀
We have had a couple of boats and love it ….. just moved up to a 30ft sports cruiser and everything you are saying is so true A real honest account. It is a massive commitment - huge in fact. And you need to learn as quickly as possible All the courses are intense But we love being on it. The sense of freedom when your out there is immense freedom
Fikk du noe fisk på magasinpapiret og? Pga sånne som deg at det ligger boss i fjæresteinen
i grew up with boats... if you are not dedicated, handy with tools and willing to fix and repair things yourself, you will obviously lose money, sanity, and even your life. Boating is for boaters, only. If you ain't boat people do not go buy a boat.
What is your biggest challenge with solo kayaking? Solo is pretty much my kayaking style simply because I don't know anyone else who wants to do things like this. I haven't done any major trips yet but it's time
Not having a buddy means that safety net of another person is gone. You have to rescue yourself and you have to carry everything in your own kayak. But sometimes I just prefer solo. Life is so busy that once in a while it’s good to just enjoy your own company 😀
@@Ocean4Life Safety net. That's a great answer. It's concern of mine absolutely. I make sure to carry a bit more fist aid gear than most would think of- right down to a tourniquet and Aspirin in case the ticker has a problem. And of course my dog is always going to be with me. She's been doing great on the boat
@@BroncLander can’t wait to load up the kayak again 😀
I've avoided the negatives by having a 4.8m trailered boat that's parked in my garage. It doesn't cost too much to maintain and it allows me to go to enough places either in rivers or off the coast when the weather is good. Big boats are just too much hassle and most yacht clubs you go past, most of the boats are moored and you wonder why.
Stay busy it’s good. Other way you stay on your phone all day I don’t mind doing maintenance
Thank you for the help!
Great review, thanks!
Thanks for taking me to the basics of owning a boat, well rounded and clear articulation of life situation :) keep sailing !!!
That is not a fail...it is just good ol fishing!
What do you think about those services get my boat & boatsetter?

@@Ocean4Life Ja håper det 🙂🙂
Hammock sleeping is the only way I can sleep (spine issues). If your still hammock camping try splashing g some cash on the Amok Hammocks from Norway 🇳🇴. Now THAT is a fantastic sleep. It’s like like a bed and turns into a seat also with its adjustable straps. It is a nightmare to get into though but no regrets once your inside one.
What kind of a mask are you wearing ?
I think that was a "frivannsliv vidsyn"
@@Ocean4Life It seems like it is quite low volume - but the side window seems to be unique. It is hard to find on the internet.
are you still the last guy who is using 26? May I ask you to share this route, maybe on Strava?
It’s on the west side of Ulvenvannet. You can start from Moberg by the farms, the gravel road comes to an end and the path starts. If you join “CK Henie” there are active mountain bikers. I’ve sold my bike for now
@@Ocean4Life Thanks for answer and have a nice day :)

Thank you that really did help
Hello great vid is the safari double skined?
No I believe it’s single
Absolutely stunning! Thank you for sharing.

Been wondering which one would be the best fit for me. Been slowly putting together a bug out/camping bag. Be mostly for spring and summer but would also like to be comfortable in the fall. Doubt any hammock would be comfortable in the winter (in Wisconsin) but if there is a way stay warm in winter, please let me know. Have always disliked ground tents. Have to pack so much more for comfort and in that sense a hammock just makes more sense!. Subscribed l! Thank you much for taking the time to make this video!
I have camped with these hammocks with my daughter in cold Norway during winter. We had snow and -12 celcius. We used exped synmat 9cm insulated sleeping pads, and we had proper winter sleeping bags, and we pre-heated the bags with boiling water in our nalgene drinking bottles. We did stay warm :-) Also just did a motorcycle adventure, sleeping in the hammock every night, rain and thunderstorms. The larger tarp on the Safari made life easy. I also use tents on some trips, but will always choose the hammock when I have the choice
